Thank you for visiting my “About Me” page and allowing  me to share a bit about myself and my life.

I have six wonderful children, three daughters and three sons and eleven grandchildren; one of which is 11 year old Paige with Pistol Pete on the gallery page. She now has my 20 year old  Arabian mare, and is doing great with her. The palomino is my 10 year old Tennessee Walker, Tucker.

Many years ago, when I was ready to have my sixth child, needing a larger home, my husband and I purchased  a large farm house, large barn and 100 acres.

A neighbor came riding by on her  horse and stopped to talk. I said "I've always wanted one of those." She took me by the hand and soon, at age 32, I had my first horse.   I got bucked off, run away with, dragged once, and stepped on. Only another horse person would understand why anyone would pursue such a sport. 

In 2001 I retired from owning and operating lakeside rental cabins in Maine which I enjoyed operatingfor 17 years. I looked for a farm with lots of rooms and acres  so that I could lodge trail riders, but could not find any I liked. So, with the encouragement from my children, I bought the place I did love with 5 acres. I was quite happy while I was redecorating and doing some traveling, Then I began thinking, is this all there is?  Years ago I accompanied a friend to a 100 mile endurance ride at the Biltmore Estate and thought North Carolina was beautiful.

So last winter I rented an apartment  abutting the wildlife preserve, falling in love with the area, the people, and the trails. Before I came back to Maine I had purchased what I now call Chadborne Farm. I wasn't even looking, it was just close by, so I feel it was meant to be.

I love to have people around, to decorate, to cook, and believe it or not, I love to clean. Trail riding and making quilts are my favorite pastimes, so some future plans are to have riding clinics and sewing retreats.
